It's clear to anyone that Jude doesn't exactly have a very soft exterior. At a first look, he simply appears masculine, reserved, and maybe even a little apathetic toward the world. If you didn't know any better, you might just write J.T. off as another cold, insensitive, blue-eyed beauty. However, you might be surprised at how wrong that sort of assumption really is. Jude Sebastian Talisman is a living example of why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, as the reality of his personality might just surprise you. Though Jude's rough surface isn't exactly welcoming, there is a friendly and gentle warmth about him that makes him approachable and likable. This feeling continues to radiate as friendship and trust begin to blossom. He's not the type to rush into a relationship of any kind; he wants to fully know and understand a person before even thinking about telling anyone, even friends, his life story. However, once he does feel comfortable in your presence, J.T.'s sense of loyalty and family kicks into high gear. Though he may not always articulate it very well, he's hugely protective and brotherly toward those who are important to him. It's not particularly easy for him to trust people, so he treats those he does consider his friends with great respect and care. A man of few words, Jude isn't exactly an outgoing or charismatic person. He feels uncomfortable seeking out conversation or companionship himself, as he is often very reserved and deals okay on his own. It's not so much that he prefers to be alone, as he loves being with family and friends, but he doesn't exactly have the confidence to just walk up to someone and suddenly make a new friend. He's much more comfortable when others approach him. Though he may appear quiet at first, J.T. is pleasant and kind toward anyone he meets. In a sense, he's a very gentle giant; someone aggressive in appearance, though very sweet and gentle in personality. Going hand-in-hand with this, Jude is very secretive about his emotions. Of course, he smiles, and frowns, and laughs, just like everyone else, though he always seems to remain calm, cool, and collected. He holds a smooth "poker face" at almost all times, no matter what the situation may be. He rarely shows anger, or excitement, at least in any extreme form. Jude is patient and level-headed, and has the ability to navigate almost any circumstance with ease and composure. However, in love, J.T. is very cautious. He's a very sensible guy, though the thought of jumping into a relationship makes him very nervous. Though he can comprehend the idea of romance and support of another person, the idea of trust is a hard concept for him to understand, making love messy and irrational for him. He never really had the opportunity to witness a true, loving relationship, as his parents were unhappily married for most of his childhood until they finally decided to battle it out in an even more unhappy divorce. And ever since then, neither of his parents have been able to hold down a rational relationship. Therefore, unfortunately, his past experiences make it hard for him to completely understand how a relationship really works. APPEARANCE... Jude's bright, icy blue eyes tend to do one of two things: creep people out, or draw them in. There isn't much in between the two extremes as it's usually one of the first things people notice about him. They're big and curious, almost child-like and gentle in contrast to his rough build. Standing tall at 6'3'', J.T.'s slender and muscular body can be both very handsome but also intimidating. Weighing at approximately one-hundred and seventy-five pounds, he is thin but not frail or weak. His skin is light and clear and tans easily in the sunlight. Despite emotional hardships within his family, the years have clearly been good to him, as Jude certainly is very easy on the eyes. He's usually seen wearing something that is "dressy casual," as in, jeans and a fancy shirt. Jude feels the need to make sure he looks proper and clean, at least in his clothing choices. He's fancy and looks well put together at all times without being too sophisticated or snobby in anyway. Even his short, brown hair is sculpted to have that perfect blend of both bed-head and style. HISTORY... Jude Sebastian Talisman grew up in a much less than desirable home-life. At least, in one sense of the phrase. Materially and physically, his life at home was outstanding; the Talisman's had a big house, with fancy cars and sophisticated decorations and TV's and computers that would make any other kid feel lucky and happy to be alive. His parents owned their own law firm and could afford just about anything they wanted. In that sense, life was wonderful. However, just because everything seemed fantastic and beautiful on the outside, doesn't mean that the family life itself is always the same. Though Jude's material possessions were always plentiful, the support from his parents was not. They worked a lot, and traveled a lot, leaving he and his younger siblings alone with a nanny most of their childhood lives. His parents believed whole-heartedly in the phrase, "money buys happiness," as in order to make up for their lack of presence in their children's lives, they bought them fancy toys and basically got them whatever they wanted. It was their way of keeping their perfect kids seen and not heard. Not only that, but the Talisman's were not exactly the most perfect couple, either. It was a rare occasion that Jude's parents got along, and were almost always constantly fighting and arguing with one another, whether it was over work, or dinner, or the attractive new intern that J.T.'s father insisted on hiring. Because of his, Jude took the reigns on mentoring his young brother and sister. Even at a very young age, he took on a strong leadership position amongst his twin siblings, Gloria Lee and Kendall Collins (or K.C., as he prefers to be called). Though Jude isn't much older than they are, they looked up to him for guidance and hope in the absence of their parents. It was during this time that he learned he had to stay strong and calm; not so much for his own sake, but for the welfare of his brother and sister. If his parents weren't going to be there, he had to be the one to hold everyone together. Life went on, and the Talisman children began to find ways of coping with their parents constant arguing. Jude kept his frustrations and sorrows inward, refusing to allow his situation to get the best of him. After all, he was also determined to remain level-headed for his brother and sister, as they needed a stable figure in their lives. They all dealt with their family problems a different way. K.C. tended to act out, skipping school and getting bad grades in a cry for attention. Gloria found a boyfriend her sophomore year of high school, and spent most of her time with him in an attempt to escape her parent's issues. Unfortunately, though, things only continued to get worse for the Talisman family as time went on. Meanwhile, their parent's relationship was finally beginning to completely fall apart. Their law firm was crumbling as they couldn't make a reasonable decision together, and thus their source of income was plummeting fast. The Talisman's felt there was nothing left to do but get a divorce -- a bitter and ugly divorce, that the three children were forced into the middle of. Jude was torn apart inside, and tried his best to avoid his home at all times. He worked hard in school, focused on getting good grades so he could get a decent job and get out of his parents lives forever. However, things took an unexpected turn when one day, at the end of Gloria's sophomore year of high school, she came into Jude's room with tears in her eyes and a rather shocking announcement. J.T. was just entering his senior year of high school when he found out his baby sister was pregnant. He was the first person she told, and it was the first time he really felt as though his world was coming undone. He could cope with his parents fighting, he could cope with their divorce, but he could not comprehend the idea of his sister having a child. He had no idea how to handle the situation and here he was, sitting with little Gloria, trying to give her the right answers. It was like the blind leading the blind. To make matters worse, her boyfriend at the time, the boy responsible, wanted nothing to do with her once he heard the news. So, Jude and Gloria were alone to decide what was best for their already broken apart family. After much agonizing over the matter, Gloria finally decided she had to tell her newly divorced parents what was going on. Considering they had both lost a lot, as their business has completely fallen through prompting them both to pursue new jobs, it was not an easy pill for them to swallow. It took some time, but thankfully, their mother agreed to help with her daughter's pregnancy. After all, it was the least she could do after giving them such a horrific childhood. Jude also agreed to help, and once he graduated high school, he immediately got a job in an attempt to give his niece a more comfortable life. Five years have passed since then, and Jude is now twenty-two years old, working as an evening bartender in town. He babysits his sister's five-year-old daughter, Emmalyn, on occasion while Gloria attends classes at the University of Florida. Unfortunately, their father isn't much in the picture anymore, but thankfully their mother has become much kinder and has been attempting to make up for lost time. Kendall moved out of town once he finished high school, though he and Jude still talk on the phone often. Overall, things have been looking up for J.T., despite his troubled childhood. He spends most of his time with his sister and his niece, trying to provide her with the father figure that she unfortunately had to miss out on. Just the thought of watching a bunch of half-naked women swinging around a pole made him feel so... dirty, as if he was absolutely desperate for companionship, or some sort of cheap thrill ride. Plus, his reputation was already pretty horrible as it was; he didn't need everyone else in town thinking he was some sort of manwhore who was out for a good time to make things even worse... not that Jasper really thought much about what society thought of him, of course. But, still, he was definitely guaranteed to never find a girlfriend if everyone considered him to be some sort of trashy slut, so, it was probably best to steer clear of that kind of stereotype, at least until he graduated, and broke out of all the drama and gossip that high school was packaged with. However, as awkward as Jasper felt about being there, it did give off those heated vibes that came with the nightlife, thus making it a wonderful spot to take pictures, purely for the fact that it showed reality at it's finest... or perhaps just most twisted. The intense passion and lust burning in the eyes of men and women alike was that of profound ferocity and desire, and reflected in the dim, multi-colored lights that flashed around the dancers and viewers, it made for truly awe-inspiring photos. The behaviors of those inside the club were barbaric and animalistic, thus showing a darker, more extreme side of Paigeville, driven by desire and pleasure -- the complete opposite of the quiet, homely state of being the town was known for. Thus being the reason why Jasper had taken the trip there, all by his lonesome, with nothing but his own mind and camera for company: for the realism he was able to capture within his photography. And so, with one more quick glance over his shoulder, he bit his lip, held his breath, and slipped through the large, tinted-glass doors that held the divide between the complexities of the real world and a land of erotic fantasies, a place that offered an escape, where men and women could forget their conflicts and delve into their own sensual phantasms, if only for one night. He hesitated in the threshold for a moment, his eyes wide and jaw dropped, clutching the camera that hung from his shoulder in the same manner that some sort of perplexed or shocked child would clutch their teddy bear or blanket. Part of him was tempted to just run back out again, back to the sweet innocence that was his home, or the cute little park down the street -- back to some place he knew to be safe. But, his tense muscles refused to contract and turn around. He felt much too bewildered to move. The place was like an elegant car wreck: hideous and terrible, and yet, oh so intriguing. The kind of thing you didn't want to look at, and yet couldn't take your eyes off of. It was disgusting... and yet Jasper had never been more fascinated. Slowly but surely, he began to regain consciousness, feeling his motor skills suddenly kicking back into gear. He simultaneously shook his head and blinked rapidly in succession, hoping to bring himself back down to Earth a bit faster than the rate he was going. He chewed on the inside of his lip anxiously before finally moving out of the doorway, dodging and sliding gracefully in and out of the crowds of people in search of the bar. After such a thrilling experience that was walking into the Cat-Scratch Club for the first time, he was in dire need of something to dull his senses and relax the fast-paced beating of his heart. Once out of the thick jungle of people that had swarmed around the stage, Jasper exhaled deeply, heavily releasing the breath he was holding in, the claustrophobia that had begun to swarm him dissipating like smoke in the air. He gingerly slid into one of the empty seats on the edge, still gripping the camera at his side, so tightly that the texture of it was beginning to embed itself into Jasper's palm. The sweet fragrances of alcohol and cigarettes suddenly began to flow through his nostrils, their scent already beginning to calm him down. His hazel eyes scanned the area behind the counter, hoping to catch the eye of the bartender. However, before he could spot whomever it was that was mixing drinks, his curious gaze wandered over to the stage, the three women upon it slowly beginning to capture his interest. | MALE.
